How about Saturday in Michaux and Sunday in Northern VA?! There's a neat little creek crossing in Philomont on VA Rt. 734 (Jeb Stuart Rd.) that would be worth checking out.

I know Marshall well, my dads paternal great, great grandparents left west Philly (Germantown) in the 1790's and settled in southeastern Bedford Co., PA, many of the other family members headed south to Loudoun and Fauquier Co's., in northern VA. If I decide to head down that way on Sunday, I'll be on the wee!

Super cool Lupin 3rd! Several others and myself are working on a project that will show all of the unpaved roads located in southcentral PA. I'm currently riding through all 15 townships in Franklin County in search of the few remaining non-state forest roads that haven't been paved over in the last couple decades, there aren't many left. We'll then attempt to link them to the unpaved roads in our three state forests; Michaux, Tuscarora and Buchanan. If anyone else would like to help us locate the last remaining unpaved non-state forest roads remainng in southcentral PA, please chime in!
About to head out the door to check the road conditions in Michaux and do some dirt road searching in the southeastern portion of Franklin County on my DR. JC |

It would sure be great if there were hi-lighted maps showing all of the dirt roads in PA, like the ones Lupin 3rd posted links to in VA and MD. Still it's been a blast looking for the last remaining unpaved non-forest roads in Franklin County while the mountain roads are frozen over, by spring I should have ridden on every township road in the county and I'll know where the last remaining dirt roads are first hand!
