Yuppers, aka Low Country. hard to believe you're in the same state as Asheville. I love the ruralness of it. No monstrosities like VA Beach, Myrtle or OC MD. The entire NC Island chain, from where 64 meets 12 down, there is only 1, yes only 1, franchise store. The Food Lion in Avon. Not one McDonalds, Pizza Hut, or Walmart. No big condo buildings on the beach, no high rises of any kind!! Heaven. I have been buying beer and groceries from the same lady in Burrus' store in Hatteras village for almost 40 years!!!!

OK I've seen HBN's setup for taking pictures while riding, what's yours? I'm trying to figure out what's the easiest, safest way to do this.

Happy New Year Jax!

Happy New Year Back at you sir!!!
Let's make this a GREAT YEAR my friends!!!!!

I keep the camera in the top map pocket of my tank bag. I can get it out, turn it on and shoot with my summer gloves on, but not my winter ones. Always left handed while moving

in practice....

taking pics from the bike safely

You need to be comfortable controlling the bike with just your right hand.

You need a cheap point & shoot that you can operate with one hand. Mine's a Coolpix L22. Cost $75. Takes great pics. It's easy o operate with a gloved hand. Fasten it to a lanyard of some type so you can drop it and not lose it if the need arises.

You need to be able to take pics without actually looking at the camera or what you're taking a pic of.

YOU NEED TO KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE ROAD!

Then it just takes practice.

It's easy once you get the hang of it.

Well said Sir! I should have explained more.
Love those pix of "the " bridge/

It is not easy to shoot on the fly, attention to detail is imperative. Don't forget where you are and what you're doing.

DynaMick made me an excellent retractable camera lanyard that I like a great deal for the ability to drop the camera when needed. PM him for the details.

They definitely increase the photographic possibilities.

I had to get one after seeing some of the pics GSA_PILOT and Hack were taking.
