Ed, although we don't know each other well, I truly empathize... As a father of two boys in their twenties, this really hit home... My heart goes out to you and all that knew your son.

Ed, I don't know you at all. I live in Westbrook, CT. Ed, I am devastated at the news of your son. I am a father of 5 with just one being a boy, 18. I can't even begin to wonder how painful the loss is. I just wanted to say something, anything to let you know, like the others on this site, that you are not alone and people are thinking and praying for you, your son and the rest of your family.

I wrote the lower post on the NEDB site, I don't think I have any better words, All of you guys are fantastic, thats why I ride with you all, and we share our joys, Well I'm sorry to have to share this truely sad moment with you. Again God Bless you all...

Sometimes you never see it coming, I will be a wreck for quite awhile, I will stay busy consoling my wife Paula and my daughter Haley along with a large supportive family and friends.

If I could say one thing to the collective. Hold on to your children with both hands so they don't slip away. They are here now, so make the absolute best of it like there is no tomorrow.

Only rode with him once but he seemed like a spot on kid. Can't imagine the hurt this will cause but I hope this makes everyone appreciate life a little more. Something should be setup in his memory. A ride in his name would be a start. Formal/informal. What do you guys think?

In the link for the obituary, they list a place you can make a dination.

I'm all for a memorial ride, maybe the best way would be to organize a sign of unity at the first local NETRA event. A custom arm band or something. I could even sew them up, sell them for donations and give the money to the NETRA fund.

I dont know if I can make the ride depending on when it is but you can still put me down for a band, sticker, patch or whatever you guys come up with

Well there are 2 Somers events that Ed is involved with. One is the Snow Run Enduro on 1/27, and the other is Somers Fun on 8/18. I'm thinking the 8/18 ride would be best.

On a side note, if we don't get much more snow, you won't need spikes to do the upcoming Enduro. Last year was a blast and most people rode on regular tires.

I found some barely used studded tires.

I'm gonna do my best to attend events this year!
