PackMule, I don't think the fires affect the pipeline. I read on the following website about when one of the Pump Stations had an explosion and fire, the pipeline was not damaged.

Has some interesting facts about the Pipeline, especially interesting is the Design and Engineering.......search the tabs on the page if you're interested.

A rerun for the newbees

I was pokin around looking for Rad's Alaska trip write up, since we just sent a couple who's on their way around the world on a KLR650 from San Diego southward just last Friday.....Toronto, Alaska, San Diego, Baja, and heading for South America!!

You can lookup theperfectworld2012 on Face Book.....and follow their adventure
