i need coffee.... just made what could have been a huge navigational error due to my caffeine deprived state..... was wondering why my hammering of the f5 button was having no effect with no refreshing whatsoever... luckily before i went too far off track i realised this was because i was hammering f9 instead....

managed to refuel with some coffee from a passing fisherman and got back on the f5 trail...

Donations here and also for Mischa. We'd be toast without his efforts.

So, Santiago time now 6:27am

Am I safe in assuming that they have been on the liaison for about 2 hours now?

Wel.. I dont remember exactly but it was like that last year i think and when the riders was to start after the neutralision they ended up at ASS in the tracking. For this year the tracking is f5kked uo anyway so it really not matter i guess for me anyway..

Restday is at Tucuman acording to the dakar site..

Not enough pictures of this guy in my opinion:

Smooth & steady, Jordi is now first Husky. And only, what, about a month and a half to get used to his ride? Awesome

This is all awesome stuff to read in the morning! Just caught up on the f5irehose and I'm now in full on "work simulation"-mode. =)

The closest I've come to the Dakar is while being on a trip in Argentina last year and staying at a hotel in Buenos Aires with a balcony facing the huge avenue in the city center. One afternoon I heard loud bike sounds, very unlike the usual small displacement bikes and I rushed to the balcony. There were Dakar bikes, cars and trucks all over the avenue! Awesome! That really sucked me into a dream of wanting to participate one day, although I'm quite sure my competence is no where near where it would have to be to accomplish something like the Dakar.

I can relate to the comment someone made about a poster on the wall in ones office, although I've got about 50 or so Dakar 2012 pictures set up as a screen saver gallery on my computer it brings up the same conversations. But finally at least one of my co-workers has gotten to the point that he asks me every morning how Lyndon is doing. =)

Looking forward to this day, how ever there will be interruptions for me during this evening due to a friend coming over. Not sure she's as hooked on the Dakar as I am.

And for the guys who worked all year to fall at the final fence before - Sam, who is struggling to cast more than half an eye on the proceedings, becuase he has been and is still totally gutted a month on from the events in California and to Philipe of course, who we all hope is able to catch up with what's going on (half an eye or more) from wherever he is at the moment - California or the Copacabana Beach
