Garmin Montana - Stay On?

Hey guys,

I have a Montana that is mounted and wired into my motorcycle. It's wired to switched power so every time I turn off the key, the GPS asks if it should stay on or shutdown. I just want it to stay on, since it's then running on batteries. If it shuts down, then I have to select Map again to see where I am. It's a PITA.

Is there a way to do this?

Not in the current Montana software.

This feature has been requested, though.

Take it off of switched power and put it on unswitched.

+1. That is what I did a few years ago to fix this issue with my 60 and now use it on the Montana.

What was the issue again?

Turn off the key, poke the screen one time and it will stay on.

If you're not paying attention, you walk away without hitting stay on, 30 seconds later it shuts off.

+1. I was unable to train myself to hit a button/screen when I came to a stop. I got pissed off about having to turn it back on and wait for it to start up too many times. So I did the power switch and love it.
