Leading links can indeed be built to run solo. It has been done for years. The earlier BMWs had them.. The Greeves motorcross bikes had them etc etc. The key is to build in an adjustable trail to be able to switch back and forth safely.
Personal;ly I thinkleading links make aton of sense in either case. Face it tele forks are basiclly a wheel on the end of two shock absorbers....kinda weird when ya think about it.

Thanks for the info! I had never really thought of it like that before. I have seen bikes with the adjustable trail. I will be doing that. So I would imagine that for solo riding i should make the trail about what it is with conventional forks? I'm sure it is very subjective but what is an estimate for the proper amout of trail for the side car setting on the LL swing arm? Thanks for your help!
