And now we're back in Popayan, having run the PanAm highway to Pasto and back. Yes, it takes that long, and yes there are no traffic rules.
Passing three wide in a construction zone- passing on the inside in a school zone, being passed by mini-bus taxis downhill, double yellows, things howling on three wheels, loaded top heavy like a mofo, packed with 18+? souls.

This place is unreal.

During the day all next week the skies are supposed to be sunny, but with the lingering....freezing ground fog, we here in the valley likely won't see much of it and the dang roads are frozen every morning when it's like this so I can't get the Klr outta B'ville in the am to ride to work. C'monnnnnnn RAIN! I'm guessing you're coping with the unbearable low to mid 70's each day? pffffffffft

I think that was the high over here yesterday. It wuz -2F on my back deck this morning....

My poor KLR hasn't started for two weeks now. I think she's hibernating.

I guess we'll just have to think warm thoughts about being in SA. I hear Colombia
is nice this time of year......

did need a long sleave shirt at altitude today, about halfway through the 75ish miles of rock/construction/gravel.

But it is 77° here now; La Plata, east of Popayan, past a volcano, on the eastern flank of the middle mountain range here headed for coffee country and cloud forest later, after desert camping tomorrow.
