Thanks for the reminder! One can let their guard down when they go to watch a race and think just because they are not racing it can not be dangerous.

Sorry to hear about your loss but it is great to see how the brotherhood of motorcycling has a long reach.

Patrice was dead a week later after a head on collision with a car in N. Chile.

I share this story as a reminder to those folks who dream about flying down and chasing Dakar by motorbike. It's absolute pandemonium around the start, finish, bivouacs, and just about everywhere in between. And that's just the traffic and people factor, on top of this you can expect fuel shortages, lodging shortages, and even food shortages in some places. Keep your head on a swivel when you're down there and be prepared for inconveniences. It's all part of the experience.

nicolas boyer 127 xr400, still in the game.
he's been hovering in the 95-105 band
i watch for his number coming in every day.
awesome effort given the attrition of other riders and bikes
and given the severity of the terrain has much "better" machines at their limit

i hope i havent given him the kiss of death.

Hi all,

The dakar is almost half way and we are watching the overall results more and more. Time to add some filters to select a specific class.

I did add an extra link to filter on the class. Associated drivers come from the official site, so don't blame me on glitches Just let me know (when you're sure of course) and I can change the drivers class.

I can add some "user defined" classes too, so lets finish Fodder's lists and add them.

I'm sure you will find the filter and the website.

Pedro Bianchi Prata, on stage yesterday, found several problems in finishing their race due to a technical fault on the bike. However, in today's stage, the 6th of this Dakar Rally 2013, part at position 151 with a penalty of 5h. Right now is the 1st sector in 46th place.

Friends :) I'm still in the race!! I am awake for 36 hours :) but happy because manage to solve everything!!
Today I went fast and pass a lot of folks! tomorrow we are in argentina :) there's still a lot of Dakar!! Thanks for your support!
