Interesting conversation must have been had. Cyril would have to trust Dabrowski on the condition of his engine!
Anyone know Mareks feedback on eBay!

Easy - Dabrowski is part of the Orlen team (Orlen being major Polish oil company). This team is certainly able to value good relationships with KTM highly enough.

I'm expecting a few raised eyebrows, with his pace and failing a mechanical the best is yet to come. Rod as well; they both have talent to burn.

I know there is a lot of Cyril hate around here, but the way I see it, what is happening is exactly the spirit of Dakar that I love. Against the odds, a lower ranked rider sacrifices to keep a top ranked guys competitive. In the spirit of the water carrier, this is Dakar and I'm glad it didn't devolve into one of the actual conspiracies floated around today, the worst of which that I heard, I refuse to even post in public.

From Manels FB page
I'm having some tough days, yesterday i broke the clutch at 100km from the end of the special and started having engine issues. Today was a disaster the bike has lost a lot of power and i hardly get to 115km/h which is really slow. Im very worried cos the spare engine i have has to be rebuilt, i have all the pieces but no idea on how to do! In some hours i have the last stage before rest day, hope i manage to get there.

He did say he was going to spend the first few days getting his head around the whole deal. Very under rated but after the rest day he's going to do well I think.

Generally smart move on everyone's part to swap out now even with another swap possible even though I didn't think it would happen. Although I am not an absolute CdP fan, then wish him the best of luck and will be rooting for the others to push on and be safe.
Just changed the posts per page down to 20...this should save me about "1 million" seconds in the next week or so. |

Okay so after all this drama class I contacted my insiders:
And I quote: "Cyril is outside right now stripping his bike. They are only working on one bike at the moment, and Cyril is doing the work himself. He is flapping quite a bit so I decided to leave him alone to sort it out. " Both my insiders knew nothing of Dabrowski's engine going in so I think that still needs to be confirmed. Otherwise most of the riders enjoyed the fast stage, but have headaches from the altitude and are doing their road books.
