Long range forecast is looking good! Tulsa weather guessers are saying 55 and sunny.
Perhaps I should shut up....Last time I made a quote the bottom fell out of a predicted good day!

Agreed. Any T-towners willing to plan a route? My laptop is currently down and I can't do much for a few days.

We plan to meet Saturday morning at 9am at Savoy Cafe and arrive at AHR at 1pm.

Well, folks... I went to AHR this afternoon and had a long chat with Tamie (AHR Founder).

Here is their current situation:

AHR uses about 5 round hay bales per week to help feed their herd of 25 rescued horses. Count their supply and it's clearly evident that they barely have enough to get through the month. This has been their limiting resource in 2012. They typically have a steady stream of donated hay to fill their needs, but due to two years of drought, this has not been possible lately. Their suppliers have no surplus to donate and AHR has been buying hay locally for up to $85 per bale because the drought has prevented baling their own hay pastures.

AHR is supported solely by donations, so when the supplies and cash run thin, Tamie and Al have to dip into their own pockets. Tamie noted that the Snotcicle Ride is their biggest event of the year in respect to donations.

If anyone has any contacts that might be able to source hay (either donated or somehow discounted), then that could make a significant impact on how AHR gets through the winter. Let me know how we can help get some hay or call Tamie to make arrangements. Thanks.

Likewise, man. It was very cold. Sure you'd be toasty in the heated onesie.

BTW- if we ride the JPC Trails on Sat, we better hope they dry up a bit by then.

Mud pit.

Guess I'll be riding in a feed truck instead of on two wheels. I'll bring in some ADV hay

Good. Newner is making headway on operation Hay Salvage and I have a few other inquiries pending as well.

Anybody have a contact that might be able to donate 2013 hay? Let's try to get it before it becomes rare at the end of the year.

No hay contacts here. Does this mean that it would be better to donate cash rather than supplies?
