Seeing the pics of your snow n' mud dual sport ride reminded me of how long it's been since I've ridden in similar conditions. Last time I can recall, though, I was actually trail riding and not dual sporting. And, nope... don't particularly want to do it again. Enjoyed your experience vicariously and the memories of my many rides in the snow, freezing rain, and sleet will hopefully remain just that: MEMORIES.

Also, congrats on the new wheels. Looks fast!

I started mine 6 months after my heart operation. I consider that I am on borrowed time so I am doing as much as I can to accomplish the things I want to do. I suppose it's a bucket list of sorts. I understand completely.

I hear ya Charlie. I started on my bucket list shortly after being diagnosed with cancer.

Still so much to see and do......

Last 4 posts are making me want to ride - sure wish it would warm up and dry out a little!

Albie, arkmozart, Jai Dee and I got out today for a romp in the warm weather. What a perfect day to ride.

We met at the new Casey's in Elkins this morning and rolled about 10:30 Am. Arkwizard had to work and 10Cup's son came to visit so they both had to pass on todays ride. The temperature was perfect, the roads had some mud but nothing bad and they were tacky and that made for no dust.

Our route today

I didn't get as many pictures as I would have liked today because I am still messing with my helmet cam. I need to tip it up so that I get more landscape and less DRZ.

The riders today

Albie

ArkMozart (Marlin)

Jai Dee (sorry the picture got messed up)

We headed in the general direction of Low Gap so that we could eat lunch at the restaurant. Once again we were not disappointed. The food was great.

I had 172 miles on the day.

Day late and a dollar short, but...

Many thanks to Charlie, Albie and Marlin for a great ride Friday! The weather couldn't have been nicer and the road conditions were ideal, especially for a sweeper like myself. No dust! I haven't done much riding this year so it was especially nice to be able to ride the great route Charlie laid out with good scenery and lots of changes in altitude as we made out way to and from the Low Gap area.

Unfortunately, I was lazy on the photos. My fall-back excuse is that I thought my two compatriots with the fancy schmantzy helmet mounted cameras would have enough frames for a full length documentary. However, one of them (the one with the high maintenance bike, color of a pumpkin) kept having throttle issues that kept the front wheel off the ground much of the time (lots of good sky shots I assume) and the other had a few turn around challenges. Nor really so much of a problem but what's a ride without a few good stretches of the truth?

Spotted on the road...

Thanks again guys. Outstanding day!

-JD

Too bad you were tied up with family affairs Mike. It would have been good to have shared my first ride of 2013 with you. I was happy to hear you were feeling well enough to get in a ride. Sounds like you've had more than your fair share of challenges lately. Next good weather let's hit the dirt.
