I still maintain that the GS is one of the best full size tour bikes that can take you and a passenger down any path, road, interstate loaded with luggage for several days and do it with ease...so long as you have ground clearance.

Its got an optional 1000$ LED headlight. So what!!!! Some of us love that shit!!! You can buy fancy automatic suspension....so what!!!! Lots of people love that shit too. For 20k, give or take, a lot of people will demand they get the latest technology and innovations. And I mostly agree.

I say all the naysayers of technology...of anything with a circuit board...of anything over 105HP (*gasp*)...go buy a 10 year old KLR and stop belly-aching about technology and overweight bikes.

Sorry.........[/rant]

+ ad infitum and supersize it

ha ha I almost wet myself, but for those who can't afford it's nice to nit pick and talking about the incompetent engineers. Or they are simply revisionists.
By the way I wonder what tires and oil it benefit most from.

:ymca:ymca Best I could find, unfortunately no rim job smileys

I admire you guys, buying before riding it, personally I'm not that brave. In my case I'll wait a couple years,
checking out the GSA and then after checking out the next Honda Africa Twin 1000?? I'll strike :-)

At least in California, deposits are fully refundable, so will have time to do a test ride before writing the check. Luckily BMW earmarks the first bike to each dealer as a demo bike. If I'm not impressed on the test ride, I'm keeping my camhead and going to test ride a '13 Multistrada.

Last week I ordered a thunder gray one with some options. I went for an option called Dynamic here in sweden (The one with full LED) and some parts as Engine protection bar, Enduro bachplate and navigator.
BMW will start build up the bike during week 9.
So now I hope the summer not will be rainy as last year.

Forgot, also ordered spoked wheels and extra AUX-LED-lights.

Same here, but I think my other choice will be the KTM 1190 Adventure (if it comes out this summer at some point). Will be a hard decision for me though, as I have been without a bike for a couple years and I am dying to get a new one.

Chain. Not getting a bike with a chain again if I can help it. The Tiger is a really nice bike but the chain is a major annoyance. I'm not going to deal with that shit again on the next bike, whatever that might be. Would love a Honda V-Twin again (had a '96 Transalp for a few years and loved the engine), but would scratch it if it had a chain drive.

Right, I forgot so no Africa Twin. Had a 91 Transalp as well, I'm pretty sure I'll get the Wassserboxer, sooner than later
