I'd be interested to know how ABS performs at less than walking pace on the sort of steep wet red clay you have to cover on the way down from Pinnibar in winter. Ron50 screwed with this post 01-12-2013 at 02:22 AM |

The fire south of Numeralla is anticipated to flare up today, according to last nights report. Expecting a southerly.
I noticed on the TV weather that there is a wide band of cloud across the country, around our latitudes. Hopefully it will have a bit of rain in it. A lot can change in two weeks. Does anyone else feel selfish / ill at ease typing about this whilst the locals are out fighting fires?

The topic on everyone's mind will obviously be the fires, and the next day or so will be important ... Hopefully some rain and a favourable change of wind ... |

We are meeting them at Numerella on the Saturday. They will coming back via the Monaro Hwy and heading to visit friends in Cabbage Tree Creek so won't be staying with us at Bruthen. I think that the ROAR mob might be also going to Jingellic on the Friday night. If this is the case, V Twin if he still has no friends to ride dirt with on the Friday and ends up with us bitumen mob, will probly ditch us for them to head to Numerella on the Saturday. Have to go to Jingellic to watch UncleGra outrun the women at the Womens Rally. ![]() Can get pear cider at the pub.

![]() Advice - Yarrabin Fire (Cooma-Monaro LGA) 13/01/13 18:24 Posted: 13/01/2013 A bush fire continues to burn 20 km east of Cooma in the Kybeyan area. Current Situation Favourable weather conditions have enabled more than 100 firefighters to establish containment lines and extinguish spot fires on this fire located approximately 20 km east of Cooma. The fire has burnt through more than 10,000 hectares of bush and grass land and is moving away from Cooma in an easterly direction. There is no threat to properties at this time. Favourable weather conditions will continue tomorrow which will further assist fire crews in establishing containments lines and extinguish spot fires. There will be smoke from back burning operations in the northern part of the fire. Be aware that access may be restricted to some local roads in the area. The Tuross-Kybeyan road currently has restricted access. The fire remains west of Tuross Road. There may also be limited access to Tuross River Road. Residents returning to properties near the fire ground are advised to be aware of the potential for falling trees or limbs, particularly in the Mt Forest Road area. A community meeting was held at Numeralla Hall (Maclean Street, Numeralla) this afternoon to update residents and provide information. Advice Check and follow your Bush Fire Survival Plan. If you do not have a Bush Fire Survival Plan, ensure you know what you will do if the fire threatens your property. If you plan to leave, leave early. Other information

Rain down here, <> 20 mm yesterday, has calmed things down, but still mopping up to do, and containment lines to finish, and some backburning to get it sorted, but hopefully down hill run from here. But of course the necessary backburning can't happen until it dries out a bit and no doubt trucks will now be stuck on the powdery trails that have turned to grease
![]() One truck rolled over on Sat night with 4 crew aboard, minor or no injuries luckily. Poor bastards up north copping it now. The Folk Festival will happen. The last big fire at FF time was 2003 and it was a terrific community bonding event in some ways. The 2003 fires had been burning from before Christmas 2002 and it was mid Feb before it was sorted. |

Some relatively recent pics and discussion on Davies Plain track is here FYI:
http://www.dirtbikeworld.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=99387 The route we used last year is far and away the easiest way to get to TG. The most technical part is the last few hundred metres to the TG gate, and its just a bit rutted, but did cause a couple of the ROARs a moment nevertheless. Its also the same bit you have to follow if you come off Pinibar. |

We are coming across from the coast via Old Bega/Tuross Rds (assuming it's ok by then of course) so if you see a green Ural around come say hello...
Anyone else going via Brown Mt?
