It shoots like a modern gun. The only issue I have is that the gun shoots 4" low and 2" left at 10 yards. The low part can be corrected by changing the front sight - they actually come in 5 different heights. The left part isn't as easy to fix - the rear sight is not adjustable. I guess I could move it some with a hammer and punch, but I have chosen to just aim a little to the right. Oh yeah, the brass ejects up and back. Button your collar before shooting.

Thanks for your info. From what I gather, they are a fairly recent addition to the C&R list.

Regarding the sights, from what I have read DO NOT try to drift the rear sight or you can damage the slide cover. Instead, it seems that you are supposed to drift the front sight only for windage.

I'll have to look when I get home but I thought the front sight slides in from front to back. Thanks for the warning.

There's a tool to do that. If you must use a hammer, use a brass or aluminum drift so you don't mark anything.

True you move the front site.....and nothing more than 115 grain bullet in the P1.

There was a recall years ago, there should be a steel pin by the slide release...other wise the gun will pound itself to death and the frame will crack sooner or later.

Not sure if mine came in before or after, but mine has Centruy's import markings on the underside of the barrel....I like it there better.

Does anyone know if it's possible to put a shorter barrel on a Winchester 1200 that's marked for 2 3/4" shells? I found a blurb on MidwestGunWorks that said "Barrels for the 1300 will fit most 1200 models. They are not intended for use on Model 1200 Shotguns that were originally chambered for 2-3/4" shells only." Are there other options?

The one I am looking at has the fat slide, but no reinforcing pin. That means 115 grain, and no hot ammo (fine by me).

I am considering a CZ 82 too, but I like the idea of widely available, cheap ammo. The 9x18 Mak for the CZ would probably have to be ordered.

They (internet experts) say that all of them you should not do anything over 115....but who knows.

I also have the 82 and like that a great deal, our local cabelas has it on stock....before the nuttyness....as well as one of the local little gun shops....so it is not THAT hard to find around here....at least it use to not be, now you can't find anything. They are very well made, and mine shoots very well.

Which would you get first of the two, if you were buying now, and if your only other handgun was a .22?

Thanks Mike.

I'm not confident with my fine motor skills to do the necessary on the pistol, although it LOOKS simple enough. I found a guy 'locally' and am going to have him do it - the right tools for the job and all that bullshit, right?

I got a loader for the HP, and it's a lot nicer to use that. I was whining about the Ruger Mark I mags that have a tiny little round button and a narrow throat - right pain in der thumbs those - I had a slider that helped but my bud broke it last trip to the range - need to make a new one out of lexan sheet.

UPS Delivered my ammo order last week, now if I can kick this cold and get out to the range! That and it was minus Eleven this AM.

When I shot it the first time I had to adjust to the trigger pull which I found light enough to give me a few wild shots.
