G'day all,
I just bought my first 625SXC, I've wanted one for quite a while. '05 model with 7,000kms on it. It came with a spare 18lt tank & comfort seat.
I'll probably need to ask some new owner questions in the coming weeks/months.
A great thread with alot of experienced 640 owners. If there area any local rides around the Windsor area north west of Sydney, I'd like to tag along on a ride. I'm mainly a road rider with a bit of experience on the dirt, so not a complete noobie.
Thanks.

.......Nice find...there's a 625 thread here currently...but more info on this 640 thread...the 640 blokes are sort of accepting towards us 625 owners...but they're just a tad pissed off that their bike is also a 625..but with more heavy useless bling attached......oh and a shit carby....

Every hose and anti-pollution device know to man was on it, so with the help of the advice in the 640 forum I did the same as everyone else, removing the air induction etc, moving the carb clip and drilling bits and pieces etc etc.

I must say a big thank you to all who posted this info - it really livened up the feel of the bike and it no longer pops and carries on on the over-run like it used to. Also seems a little less vibey...or I may just be getting number lol...

Much more fun to ride off road now - more responsive. I had a great time with the other 8 riders out to Baloomba falls. (shame the dusty rocky sections more than doubled the number of dings on my front rim on this one ride - guess I'll look for a new skinnier rim asap)

Like others have just commented - smooth is fast on these eh!
I'm surprised how capable the suspension is - light years ahead of my old Dominator! And like the comments above - more power would only make it spin up the tyres even more. Only place it feels heavy is on the road really.

There is a fair bit of buffetting at 100kph though - any good fixes around for that?

Cheers
Getting your suspension revalved would probably help with dinged rims too.

There are only a few who've played around with extra screens etc, using google to search the site and the index would be your best bet.

Could anyone advise me if a 28L tank that had its origins from a 1998 620lc4 will it fit on my 2006 625SXC?

Thanks

Jon

I only know that the safari tank for the 625....was built on the 2006 model 625...The 640 tank wont fit a 625 because the seat is different.

I don’t want to undermine the local dealers but the whole lot was supplied out of the USA at $200.00 and delivered in 10days. (The freight paid by the suppliers on the package was $58.00).
Yep I picked up a new 1.6" Excel 7000/Talon f/wheel delivered from the US for $400 recently.

last call

hey guys, I've listed these in the fleabay but there is so much stuff in there that it's not long before the listing is lost in old pages... so this is a last call for stuff in the pic below. Make an offer on any of the parts via PM.

You want the best? One word - Renazco. Not cheap but you get what you pay for. I had one on my 640a, have one for my 530EXC and will soon have one for my 450RFR.
