slightly off-topic (but not really off where the topic is now )

One Saturday afternoon Archie McKay came into the pool hall with a case (y'know, those old wooden cases) of 7-Up ... 'cept none of the bottles had caps on them ...and passed 'em around. I sorta chugged one and was maybe halfway through the 2nd when I flat passed out on the snooker table.

To this day, that 'shine was the smoothest stuff I've ever downed.

Edit: I was 16, best I remember.

In the co-driver’s seat this time was Paul Round, who had built the Desert Warrior 3 vehicle, the latest version of the successful rally car he’s been refining over 15 years of Dakar racing, but things didn’t look good. The engine, a six-cylinder turbo diesel from a BMW X5, had seized, and they suspected a piston had failed, which would be unrepairable in the field.

Desperate to continue, they got 10 spectators to push them and managing to unstick the engine, get it restarted to go 500 metres farther before the connecting rods snapped and pierced through the block.

“All the locals came running up. They saw all the smoke coming out of the engine. One of them looked at me and said ‘finito?’ And I said ‘finito.’” A later engine teardown would confirm that one of the pistons was toasted.

But Bensadoun is already looking to next year’s Dakar with further upgrades to the car.

“We’ve got to get the car to be bulletproof,” he says.

Maybe. But it can still go the other way. Remember, KTM have just produced a seriously ass-kicking MX machine, both in World MX with Cairoli and AMA with Dungey. They are also starting on the development of a new lighter, EFI machine as reported by Pyndon. And I don't get the financial woes that everyone lays on them. They have just had a better year than BMW, and are strategically placed in one of the hottest markets, India. They are not going away.

What KTM lack in money (compared to the Honda Goliath) they more than make up for in svelte, versatile, dedicated and determined groups within the racing branch of the company. And balls. Engineers, mechanics and race managers included.

And yes, I bleed orange (or rather, purple, like the Kini machine of the mid 90s)

As both KTM and Berg owner I like the above story so I am going with it

When I go the FR3 and FR4 links you have posted for Safari users and click on them it opens a new window and then opens iTunes with some funky numbers listed as a title in my songs list. It squelches five times and nothing ever loads into the empty Safari window.

When I cut and paste into a new window it tells me that it can't find the server.

I held off asking for a week now hoping I would eventually figure it out, but I can' t. Any ideas.

I'm on a mac and that link didn't work either.

So I used this on safari, it shoul open quicktime

for fr4 (and 3 I guess) you just erase 2_hi and replace it with just 4

There's an application called VLC - download it for free and all will be well. Choose to "Open from network" and use the URLs provided.
