Great to hear Laia made it in and is getting a new engine Hats off to Miguel

Nice to hear Pyn's call in last night, and his interpretation of riding with the front runners
So sad about Casteau, I was hoping he would take the win this year

Dislocated shoulder that won't stay in place even after the medics strapped it.

Today's stage, the 9th round, joined San Miguel de Tucuman to Cordoba (Argentina) featuring 259 km of displacement and 593 km special.
Pedro Bianchi Prata, earned in the previous step to the 4th place overall, now manages the classification step up to 18th position in the standings so some places ...

Damn work distractions. So a very belated F5ire in the hole, I expect riders at WP1 in 10 minutes tops

Will be interesting to see if Cyril can command the whole stage from the front today, looks like he has been reborn after yesterday's results...

morning all... tough few days with lots of disappointment, missed waypoints, broken bikes, injuries and wasted time.... and that's just me!! was hoping to catch up on the rest day but delays and the necessities of trying to find a new job got in the way... day off yesterday so another chance to catch up after quickly making my bike ready for mot. only to find the missus had tidied away my keys! turned the house upside down trying to find them, texted and rang her, no answer... mucho frustrato! then i had work to do on the house... so to summarise, i'm still behind!! and she doesn't know where she put my damn keys!

but i'm almost there and i think i've got the most important bits:

- marathon stage was actually a marathon stage
- lucky cyril does have friends with engines and manages to swap in true alien style in 30 minutes with the help of his sonic screwdriver
- horrible noob mistake screws a lot of people on the soggy short second marathon
- cyril doesn't trust anyone and double checks so doesn't get caught out as much
- our lyndon decides he doesn't like getting his feet wet so gets out of the river, pulling some alien navigation skills to come in 9th!!
- bikes result stand
- cars get very soggy and times very messed up
-brodovitch still at the top of f5
- senegal gets all ASO on the ASO
- no one hates cyril anymore, but plenty still hate his bandana
- laia wears a bandana
- no one hates the bandana anymore
- CDP treats everyone to some fine riding on SS9
- pain doesn't
- casteu tries to make a hamburger and is out
- so is nasher all-at-ya?
- ss9 is looong and tough
- lyndon loves riding at the front

did i miss anything??

on Laia issues (google translated)

Puertas in this day has held office of "backpacking" Gas Gas Team Dakar after mechanical problems and his partner Laia Sanz before the second special and no option to fix the bike and the engine not to force the danger to break, has taken the decision to tow his bike across the 320 km second stage, to the finish of Cordoba, "I saw Laia mechanical problems, had broken desvaporizador oil specifically, we tried to fix the bike but race could not, so we decided to tow the bike itself Laia Laia and the final stage. The terrain was not difficult to drive "a couple" but we have been very slow, about 80 km / hour to not fall over, yet we have fallen several times, it is impossible not to fall. Finally we reached the last goal of the classification, but it was worth, Laia is a great champion and companion, he deserves to be in the race. This is the Dakar, an adventure every day. Almost no time to think about what happened today, and we are already thinking about tomorrow. We must continue, it is important that the whole team are in the race and we have little to reach Santiago de Chile. Laia is a champion and he deserves to be in the race. "
