Wow! CDP is opening well. Berreta Bort only pulling 21 seconds on him to WP6. That's amazing on two fronts...

That CDP is opening and holding on, and that Barreta Bort is even able to pick up 21 seconds! Man, that Husky must be flying!!!

Too bad BB is not in contentiaon for the overall...this would almost be as epic as a CDP/Coma battle!

Anyone know if they gave Marek a fresh one?

I can't imagine he'd try to go the distance on a motor with no 5th gear...

Pain looks to be having a tough day. He's 5 min ahead on the piste from Lyndon, but Lyndon is over 3 min up on him in the stage standings. Lyndon is rolling his usual pace.

I'd guess that he hurt himself pretty good yesterday.

Faria and CdP exactly the same times WP5 through WP6. Ruben 1:33 ahead overall.

I dunno about that.

Yeah, he's wicked quick. In speed, as fast as Despres is a fair assessment.

But alien around these parts means that warp factor 8, while leading. He's getting there, but I don't see that he's made it quite yet. Soon he'll be there, I bet.

That being said, in pure speed, I always thought that Coma had the edge over Despres. Not by much mind you, but all things being equal, Coma is quicker.

He's in pain...

Sorry lack of sleep, callus developing on f5 finger.....becoming delirious....had a moment where I was wanting to watch snooker....back is sore from not moving for the last eleven days (classic f5 rookie mistake...need to remember to stretch)...

So Pain in pain..

The top riders are spaced right now, except for Goncalves who's on Jakes' ass...

- He did not take much time when arriving at the biv to rip into his bike. Tools in one hand, taking boots off with the other. Makes you wonder if he even got a drink upon arrival.

Seeing him change that engine and head out for the next stage blazing, definitely one of many impressive moments of this year's Dakar.

As a spectators I take some of these moments for granted. The F5 veterans describing these moments is another reason why this thread is so special.
