Speedbrain was initially a BMW G450X team, right?
It could be my jaded glasses, but things seemed to gel after Husky engineers dug into the engine & made some serious performance improvements. Not really sure how long Husky influence has been in it, 2 years? But I see a winning combination.

I've read many comments about Barreda riding too hard, can't keep up the pace.
But here he is.
I have a feeling he is a new ALIEN & his safe pace is just that much faster than many others.

WOW! Only a 1:15 over 357 kms of racing. That is incredible. Just goes to show how close to the edge these guys are running. Seems like this represents possible the "physical & mental" limit of what can be done on a 450cc machine. Wonder how fast Coma could have covered it? (I think he may be the only person that is faster for any given stage than Cyril).

Amazing shit!

And thus the day for the prima donnas ends. Masterclass riding for Le Patron today, opening the day and losing out only 1.15 to second starter Barreda. Tomorrow Barreda will open, and Cyril gets to play tactics, or just wait for Joan to make a wrong call on the navigation. Hint: remember the 1.15 difference, and contrast & compare to tomorrow

Faria slots into second overall, and the battle for 3rd overall is now being contested by Jakes closing in on Chaleco. This one is going to be interesting.

Botturi in 5th overall has a nice buffer of ten minutes to Helder in 6th, and is looking to retain it till the end of the stage.

There's your top 5, now to root for Lyndon, Beaulé, Boundsy, Watt, Luis, Laia and the other nuts

Because he wants to not only finish a Dakar. He wants to finish on a bike nobody else has.

Silly noob question
Is there a place to find previous stage info and a general info with results a layman can understand? I was on the Dakar site, but it is difficult to understand if you don't know what you are looking at. Curious if there are any good websites that explain each day of racing. Thanks!

Ken

Pyn through WP9.

Boundsy should be in CP2 momentarily.

Since ric678 are managing the Dakar rulebook it might be in order that he get the rules for both darts and snooker so F5 folks gets the game.

Just so you dont get bored waiting for an ES coverage..

Check out Doyle's blog at http://www.rallyraidreview.com/ He doesn't have writeups for each stage completed, but the ones that he does have are outstanding.

For pure numbers, check Mischa's site at http://trackingdakar.nl You can scroll between the days and categories, and you will be able to see the progression of times across the stages.
