No, because I was feeling a little froggy. Many posers on this board post long laundry lists of intended farkles complete with claims of extravagant stables filled with bikes because of their unlimited resources and months off to enjoy riding. The post just smelled funny to me.

If this post is legit then CONGRATS to you! Seems like a fine build and a great score on an unmolested SE.

P.s. I installed a Rekluse EXP about 1500 miles ago and it has been the best addition to my ADV bar none.

I'm real. Semi retired with a bike addiction. Thanks for the post. I have rekluse clutches on my 350, 530, and 990. All tweaked by Al himself (the owner of rekluse) in Boise. Head2wind has seen my 350, 530, and 990. All highly modified/farkled. We are going to post further pics as we go along. I think I have a pretty good list. any helpful ideas?

You list looks like it includes everything except a spare set of wheels. one set up for the street and one for the dirt.

basically making a big dirt bike. very little street. only to get to more dirt in the middle of no where. gonna use up stock tires, then mount tkc front and rear mefo super explorer or heidenau k60. have this set up on my 990 and love it. recommended by Geek and I really believe he knows everything! my dirt riding abilities on this bike will not require any knobbier tires. if it's technical then i will ride a different bike. that being said i would love a set of woody's wheels!

No he doesnt, Mitas E10 front is better. Better side walls.

I would strongly recommend you stay away from ballistic batteries. I had two in sequence die, on the first use. I believe the best lithium at the moment is antigravity 12 cell, but haven't tested because of cost. Shorai seems to have some believers in here.

My facet died at 15k kms. I think DrBean solution is far more reliable and closer to the initial design and function. I use one at the moment.

On the voltage regulator I would recommend installing a Shindengen Mosfet R/R. Avoids baking your CDI in case it dies and doesn't generate too much heat when alive.

I believe clutch covers to be obstacles in radiating heat so I would avoid it.
The rest are great updates I would follow if I had unrestricted budget.

I would be interested on your jetting with dome air filters.

great info. thank-you. we will post progress notes and pics. i have ballistic batteries in my 530 and 990 and have never had any problems. head2wind is the brains here. i will make sure he reads your post.

Doing similar with a 990 myself at the moment.

Let me know if you need any advice on 'low-to-no' weight, short-haul, off-road luggage options.

Thanks for all this, I have just acquired an 08 SE on similar miles in the uk
I ( but mostly the previous and only owner) have done all of the mods being talked about
Only things I am looking at are rotopax on the wolfman racks
also the centre stand but an Anderson stand will do pro tem

Small simple things:
little drain holes at the lower side of your wishbones
bolts that run through the wishbone, securing the chain slider in place

sometimes i will take my special lady friend 2 up, she will lean against it a bit. we do the same thing on the 990 and the ducati. same top case moves between 3 bikes. custom made back rest so she is comfortable. also take a wine and cheese spread into the boonies. with a blanket.
