In the Himalayas

I gave him a MOD Side Stand Foot a pre-production one no less. In 8 months it went 45,000kms on the bike...and it's still there His site: http://www.froma2b.com.au/index.php

We've also got RedHed on his way down to Usuhaia:

He's got full MOD kit on board

He's hangin at Dakar right now.

Somewhere in Guatemala. His Blog: http://redhedsmototravels.blogspot.ca/

I have no idea how many km's on his bike but it's A LOT!

Keep ridin all and see ya out there!!

So... I know glamour shots are the norm, but I thought I'd share the darker but still interesting side of these shenanigans.

Bottomed out. Below is a shot of the suspension closed up from the impact. Check out the proximity of the skid-plate to the ground. And more impressive/sad is the condition of the front tire. I thought lowering the pressure to 29psi would aid traction in the flat sections, and it did, but it couldn't manage the impact of such a heavy bike descending from the sky.
Have you checked the bolts on the rear suspension afterwards. Impressive shots

Will do. Thanks for the heads up. I've got my fingers crossed that all is well and I'll plan reinforcing the bolt before I take to the air again.

*Update* I checked the rear bolt and all is fine. Perhaps the 2012s are more robust? At any rate, I'm glad the bolt isn't bent and I'll reinforce it later just to be on the safe side. Thanks for the information.

Indy's (Indy Unlimited -PM him) got the best solution if you end up needing it btw...which it looks like you will eventually

Actually Nic's blog is this one:
http://www.froma2b.com.au/index.php

He's already finished his ride though.

I do believe he is going to do a RR on here too.

That Redhed blog is for the second rider and he's still en route. I'm not sure what rotors they are? Maybe Braking? They do look good though!

more pix

Just picked this up on January 19th.
So far I deleted the lower portion of the luggage rack since I've no intention of using hard cases, removed the reflectors, took out the extension on the license plate lamp, wired in a lead for the battery tender and blacked out the stock screen.

More parts to be ordered momentarily...
