My set arrived yesterday from Daniel Watt (Motobi) and they appear first class. $110 including P&P from Canada to the UK. The are the red/white/grey stencil-style lettering and stripes for the 1989 R100GS-Paris Dakar.

And this is what Motobi's decals look like -

I followed his advice and dampened the tank with a wet sponge as this allowed the decals to be easily lifted off and replaced. Before I started I looked at a number of pictures on Google Images to make sure I got the lettering in the right place. Any problems? Well yes. There is a horizontal dent or groove along the tank beneath the storage compartment and the red stripe tried to have a mind of it's own. I tried to get it to meet the existing stripe on the compartment lid but it wanted to miss it by 1/4". Idea. Use a hot air gun. This gently softened the stripe and allowed me to move it slightly (against it's will). I still had to lift it a few times to get rid of air gaps and bubbles but it was done. When fitting the stripe on the opposite side I set the hot air gun in it's 'Hot' setting. Mistake. Within a second or two the red stripe sagged like toffee (candy) but it did fit allbeit it with a couple of tiny bubbles which just won't press out.

I'm pretty pleased with the decals - the word DAKAR are all individual letters which needed to be applied one at a time, so that's why I applied the red stripe in the first place.

Motobi advised me that lacquering over the decals isn't nessessary as they should stay well and truly stuck.

I should add that when I bought the bike six years ago, these decals were missing from the tank.

Decal Set for 1989 Red White R100GS Paris Dakar

TO MOTOBI:
Daniel, can you still supply the decal set for the Tank and side panels of a Red/White 1989 R100GS Paris Dakar ? I live in Belgium.
If so, I would like to order 1 set, but possibly 2 sets as my mate could use a set. Please let me know. Cheers ! Danny
