A larger front tank.

Which was also necessary as Henk H was 2 cheap to return the front tanks that were wrongly ordered, 2 small, and lay out the money to buy new tanks.

Check the "great" way the front tanks match with the fairing... Pffff. Breaks my heart.

GNCC is slow racing compared to Baja or Dakar. This guy likes to open it up. If it will go 110 mph he'll find his spots to get there. The only thing holding him back here is navigating. He'll get another chance to test his navigation tomorrow.

I sure don't understand how they can ride so fast while looking at that dang roadbook, though.

After our similar problems with Hondas in 2009, I did email and leave messages for Quinn about maybe bringing more fuel. He didn't, but found out that he needed a bigger tank a few stages into it. (He was using a motor built to Baja 1000 specs in a Honda Europe bike with fuel capacity designed for a much more unmodified motor.) But, you guys are the only ones who listen to my rants. Stevo Svitko had a nasty fall today. He fell over handlebars in high speed. He damaged oil cooler but managed to repair it and got some oil from another rider. But he suffers a lot and is considering staying in the race.

Honda Europe bikes like Quinn's were running a big rear subframe tank and a medium-sized front aftermarket tank, total capacity about 30 liters. Quinn just swapped the front tank for a bigger one, I think from IMS, which gave him the few more liters that he needed. Of course, this year's HRC bikes are much different, but I have noticed, in talking to several builders and using many of their specs on our bikes, that Baja 1000 bikes generally burn much more fuel than Dakar bikes. Fuel mileage is simply not a major concern in Baja, where you can theoretically pit every 30 miles or so if you like. I suspect that HRC is leaning on engine-building expertise from their Baja teams and not testing mileage in WFO race conditions. (Who could?)
