Many would be fine with the last step, where it ended up like this.....

There is nothing wrong with that, but over the last few years, I have found that all the bling...3d show floor....finish, is not my cup of tea on a working bike. I know I know..... Sounds very double moralistic....Right . But that belongs somewhere else. To each their own. There are actually a reason behind this. You see as I have mentioned in many of my other threads, the thick show room floor coating is begging to be scratched, and it shows fast. Granted, it can be fixed fast as well, but I found that by using my own " rub method" you get a thinner layer, with a satin finish, which has better or should I say less show of the scratches. So onward with this time 120 then 220 grit I went....

Here it is after the 220 grit...

And after 600 wet... You can now start to see the stealth look that is taking shape. You cannot replicate this with any spray....etc.... It is all in the love of your work....

Then as this piece is too big to fit in the oven, and the desert went down to 14. F. this morning..... I used the jet-A driven heater to thermally bring up the temperature on the piece, readying for the rub. Before the rub....

After the rub...... Me like.....

I love it, earling! I love how you make it so easy. You get more done in one of your posts than I do in 5 posts. Your technique reminds me to slow down sometimes, and think about the easier way to get things done.

I hope that you have another project in mind, because I'm looking forward to it.

Great work, man!
