I have one of these on my 950se. The tires traction has been really good in the dirt but the tire is really noisy on the pavement. Tire wear hasnt been as good as a 908 dunlop for me.

I've had this the H/T on the rear of my 950ADV for close to 4000km and I love it but shit, it is noisy.
![]() It grabs excellent on anything dry, it's excellent on the street, it still grabs well even half worn, it's impressive. It's really not wonderfull on the wet stuff but manageable. I'd try something else just because of the noise but those Motoz are so cheap, maybe I should buy earplugs instead. |

I am using a Shinko 700. Partially because I've just turned into a cheapskate - $51 from motorcyclesuperstore - but I've also had nothing but good experience with them on/off road. I think I've only ridden Scorpions or TKCs otherwise, and I hated them both, especially when worn.
I don't do a lot of aggressive stuff much anymore, and spend way too much time just commuting and getting groceries, but on the rare occasions when I get off road they do me just fine. At CJRacer's last tech weekend I remember one of the guys talking about the Shinkos having a soft sidewall. Their preference in tire was the non-scout Heidenau I think.

I had f and r my SE and found they were the most unpredictable tire I've ever used. They worked good in some areas but when you pushed it they would let go with no warning.

I just went through a set of MotoZ tires fr and rear and thought they were awesome for DOT tires. I wasn't expecting them to be off road race tires. I was concerned about the knobs splitting at the base after my first ride but it wasn't an issue. I was really surprised how good they held up on the pavement. The front didn't show wear near as bad as expected. On the road you were pretty limited in the turns but they never folded. The front knob design is tapered for durability and longevity not ultimate traction like squared knobs. The rear is kind of crowded not providing channels. Overall they were great, but loud as a quad on 44's

140/80/18 not seating
I just put a Desert 140 on my 990 rim (4.25") and it would not seat at all - anyone have ideas about how to get it on the rim so it stays?

I had to have my local shop use their compressor to get it up to ridiculous pressure before it would seat on the stock rim. If you have a compressor at home try removing the valve stem just for the seating process. We used to do that for hard to seat tires when I worked at a (automotive) tire shop.
