Painful for sure. I space mine so the pain is easier to deal with:
98 Grand Cherokee 95 Grand cherokee (Son's car) 89 F-150 due this month 76 Redale MH apartment on wheels 02 DRZ400s 08 WeeStrom 02 utility trailer Since I already pay WAY MORE than my FAIR share of taxes in this country, I drive older vehicles and that slightly reduces the amount I have to pay. Next I need to own many less vehicels, somehow i think our gubberm$nt will help me do that. Anybody know of a 215 lb bike that will comfortably carrry all my stuff, cruising all day @ 80 mph, and easily do 5 mile of hell? oldmanb777 screwed with this post 01-04-2013 at 10:18 AM |

Most of the high fees are "Ownership tax". In addition to the sales tax paid at purchase, they are paid every year on a declining scale. Completely different from registration fees, though collected through the motor vehicle department.
Works like this:
If you buy a new $50,000 truck, you will pay ~$3,500 sales tax (+/- depending on city/local tax rates) plus another ~$2,600 in 'ownership tax' in the first five years of use! (ps: Ownership tax is typically deductable on your federal and state tax returns, so at least you are paying those fees in pre-tax dollars )

I don't know why anyone would be suprised by such a post - it is simply an emulation of what officials in the highest levels of Gov't have promoted and more than 1/2 of the US population support. The haves and rich are mostly Gov't employees (they get pensions and make more than private sector employees), so they should certainly "pay their fair share" and such tax avoidance "loopholes" should be closed.
That said, I tend to feel the grunts in our military are not treated well in their jobs or well treated when injured (or their families when killed), but they choose their path. The higher-ups (generals, etc, are overpaid, and too much time for "extracuricular activities" (like the Paula Broadwell incident). No time to protect the constitution - I got me an interviewer to phuck.... wzd1a screwed with this post 01-17-2013 at 08:02 AM |

Except for the possibility of being pressed into combat and involuntarily being uprooted, there are some good Military perks.
