I'm with the view that the cops don't get involved because they don't know, or don't want the confusing hassle.
On the other hand, "legal" isn't always a problem until something goes wrong. |

![]() Response From State Motorvehicle: Thank you for submitting your question via the SOSWebMaster! Your inquiry has been forwarded to me for a response. While your motorcycle may have 4 wheels on the road, your current motorcycle endorsement is all that is needed for you to ride legally. The vehicle is still technically a motorcycle, although somewhat less maneuverable. The only difference under Michigan licensing laws would be if you used a motorcycle with more than two wheels to complete your skills test as part of the licensing procedure. That would result in an endorsement limiting the rider to use of a vehicle with a three point (triangular) configuration. I hope this answers your questions. Ride safely and enjoy your bike! The DOT doesn't certify motorcycles for towing, but all states will license motorcycle trailers, and won't ticket folks towing them. Why? I don't know. ,

I had a set up like that....it had pedals and I was two. I'm sure it was more fun than it looked but it worked a lot better once it was removed. Enjoy Carefully...looks like a great way to get hurt.
Around here there are a few big bikes with electric training wheels. Above a certain speed they retract. Below that speed they deploy so it holds the bike up at a stop. Looks like a viable option if your legs don't work anymore.
