Seems like there have been remarkably few car punctures this year? And no catastrophic moto tire issues?

On VLC this year. No ad barrage, and better resolution.

Todays update from PAU FB:

Pål Anders Ullevålseter was number 15 on the current 12 stage of the Dakar Rally, and climbed to 17th overall.
Special stage of 319 kilometers had started in Fiambala and finish in Copiapo.

The winner of today's stage was Frans Verhoeven of the Netherlands at the time 3:49:15 and he struck northern man with 9 minutes and 43 seconds. Ullevålseter is now at 17 in the overall - 2:50:59 behind overall leader Cyril Despres of France.

Pål Anders has this to say about today's stage:

- Today was a little more my terrain. In addition, I have changed the springs on the bike that actually really helped today. The landscape and the roads were a little more open and there was sand that has gradually become my favorite surface. Not really much else to say other than that it was a pretty special experience to start the day today by driving over the Andes at 4800 m in the biting cold and sit down to relax now for 35 plus degrees. It's not just racing that is extreme, but the conditions and climate change along the way too.
