skyline drive is the northern part of the brp and it's toll. i have always avoided it because i thought it was flat and it has a 35mph limit. but i rode it last summer and it was great. i did not obey the speed limit as i never do, but the 35 limit is because it's more crookid and tighter turns, good cleared and frequent overlooks and fresh paved roads. what i would do is get on a cherokee and camp at blue ridge mc campground on 276 if passing there late. if not, ride 4 more hours north to va and camp at
Willville mc campground at meadows of dan va. cherokee to willville is a good day ride.

parkway trip

the blue ridge campground is closed for the winter and I don't think they open back up till early april. there are a lot of primitave camping spots all around the area though, motels that time of year are not too high, 45-60 per nite for clean mom and pops motel. I would catch rt 17 or 441 north out of Ga. either will dump you out right in the best riding at the southern end of the parkway.
