I think he only has a little over 6 1/2 on Faria. Wouldn't a15 minute engine penalty put him into 3rd?

For sure 1st place for tomorrow is all but gone.

you're right... i didn't even get the right team.

i plead tiredness - i've manually tagged (by rider / number / what's in the photo) almost 2000 photos from dakar.com at this point... i'm bound to get a few wrong here and there. - fixed in the appropriate places.

But yes, it was 2011 that "our Si" did the Dakar unsupported. He was definitely there ( supported ) in 2009, maybe 2010 that he didn't show up ?

So there's no penalty for dropping out of the Marathon class now ? It was 15 minutes in 2009, but there was no engine change time penalty then. ( for one swap anyway )

Since the top five are already Ernge...I'd say that it would take quite a catastrophe for a different color join the podium this year.

Speaking of KTM gearboxes....Cyril and Chaleco both suffer failures this year but, was it not a gearbox problem that got Coma last year too?

(seems like that's what I'm remembering)
