OK FINE
Agreed, Ruben is a true team player. ![]() Here's some more loving for the Aussies Trailzone mag: DAKAR DONE: ROCKET ROD LEADS THE AUSSIES HOME! The 2013 edition of the Dakar Rally is done and dusted - all that remains is tonight's (our time) ceremonial ride to the finish line presentation. Centretune Yamaha's Rod Faggotter (pictured) carried on through the final stage as the top Aussie Moto finisher in the Outright rankings, coming home in an awesome 14th overall on his Yamaha France YZ450F - great job, Rod! But then right behind him in 15th overall was Team KTM's Ben Grabham in his Dakar debut, who just kept running stronger as the event rolled on - unreal job, Benny! GHR Honda's Warren Strange kept powering on and finished in 24th place, while his GHR Honda team mate Todd Smith notched up 32nd in his first Dakar outing - great work, boys! Making like the Energizer Bunny - as he does at Dakar year after year - British-based expat Aussie Simon Pavey just kept going on and on and notched up another Dakar finish, steering his Husqvarna home in 53rd - great effort, Si! Meanwhile, Aussie iron man Matt 'Factory' Fish was officially recorded as the 110th placegetter on his Husqvarna Rallye Team by Speedbrain factory bike, this after some truly epic efforts helping his lead Husqvarna team mates as their 'water boy' and finishing one stage just before dawn after an engine change, and then going right back out to start the next day's stage less than an hour later - wow! In the Quad ranks, GHR Honda teamster Paul Smith finished seventh, which included winning a stage along the way - Awesome! Congratulations to all the Aussie riders and their crews on conquering the ultimate off-road motorsport event - champions one and all! - Clubby

Hey Troy,
No offense taken! I'm no Elite rider... But I gotta give props to Faria. As you mentioned, he is just amazingly professional and humble at the same time. Would be interesting to see him as #1 on a team, maybe once CDP and Coma retire... He certainly has shown that he can lead a rally and win stages. Would be great to see him win one of these years! |

Ruben Faria this moment is yours to shine... ![]() ![]() [/QUOTE] Couldn't have put it better; it takes something special to ride to team orders the way he has; and if promises from corporate/competition groups mean anything, let's hope that KTM have promised him the top step of the podium in a year or two.

I guess Perfecthansel has gotten bored with winning Dakar so many times on Bikes and Cars and figures Trucks are the next logical choice. Quads, not so much. It would be fun to see him in a truck, but what brand would it be?

I'm trying to think positive thoughts and I'm positive that I'm having trouble finding any to think positively about.
![]() Of one thing I am sure; ASO know exactly where Luis is and what the situation is. I suspect he's already told 'em to sit on it more than once. C'mon, Luis! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
