Figured I might quit lurking and show face here before I pop up at the event. Going to be a rebel and going to break some rules. Will be taking the 1200GSA, how many of you other guys will be in the "big bike" crowd with out a support wagon?

I'm all about riding these events that say they are too "gnarly" for big bikes. So far this will be my first roaming rally but far from my first ride not recommended for big bikes. Something about weaving a tank of a bike through techy uphill/downhill rock sections is super fun. Any nothing beats the reactions of people with the camera at the top, waiting for that one dump.

Well the fact that you can ride to the event do the event and ride back and not have your rear feel like hamburger meat is what does it for me!

Don't worry - with the team requirement this year, we can carry our bikes through the water. Two on the front, two on the back - hike!!

Hit some water on the track?
Lift with your legs, not your back,
or we'll be SPOTting the medivac!

I should change my handle to ADVPoet.

First hole, large rut, swamp, hill you need help with - I'll gladly switch bikes for a while if you like :)

Are you bringing hard case luggage? Removable?

Ride prep has begun. I'm mostly servicing my rear shock but I may do a bit of a redesign on the rear end of the bike as well as a few other mods to shave a little weight off. My F650 with empty hard panniers and a tank bag containing a tool roll and a rain jacket weighed in at just over 500 pounds according to the pallet scale where I work. Only about 75 pounds less than a stock wet 1200gsa but with half the power.. my bike is going on a diet!
