No actually. We just get the standard "26 Minutes of Dakar" show, narrated by Ben C. Nothing Oz specific at all. Really disappointing given how many Aussies took part this year.

Heres my quick theory on Hondas gas problem... Honda did not test enough in the dunes nor at such a frantic race pace as the dakar before the accidents out in ridgecrest. I dont think they tested at all out at Dumont or Glamis.... Anyway they found the equation a friend and I came up with. we simply call it the Hawthorne effect. Just before we raced the North Nevada rally with our LC4s with 18 ltr tanks we were getting an easy 200-220 miles of range at a good race pace. But once we reached Hawthorne and the super sandy roads we didnt expect the crazy amount of rear wheel spin even. Our mileage dropped to about 150 and we ran out of gas on the stage before the mid day service .. both of us were lucky enough to be just up hill from a check point that had a guy with some gas... Anyway they got caught out ... never pass gas and a motorcycle never has enough of it unless its on fire..
BTW... tally keepers some of us finished the F5 rally with under 100 posts but they were strong ones !

Manuel "staff" FB:
Manuel Lucchese We crossed mountains, deserts, suffered heat and then cold, SMS da Manuel: "We raced 14 days through 3 countries on almost 9.000km. We experienced every type of emotion from happiness to desperation, we had our good and bad moments but we made it guys... WE and this includes all of you that supported me and stood next to me from every part of the world through the toughest event on earth.... Dakar accomplished!!!!! I am officially one of the youngest italian riders in the history of Dakar to get at 24 years old to the finish!! Today i had problems with the bike and i have to thank really a lot the rider Chavo Salvatierra nr.50 who pulled me with a rope to the finish line!!!! A Big thank to Mauro and Ezio for giving me a bike that managed to get me here racing All the Race with the same pistón and engine!! The problem of today is not the engine but just something with the fuel pump because i crashed early this morning. Thanks also to All of you!!! I want to dedicate this achievement to my grandparents who were praying every night for me!!" Props to both Manuel & Chavo ![]()
