Another former Blake bike
I bought Blake's W650. He and his wife came up from Parker today to deliver it. I've wanted one of these for a long time but they don't come up for sale very often, especially local ones. I read Blake's trip report about a month ago when he went to Las Vegas to get it, and thought that maybe in a year or two he might want to sell it. As it turned out, I didn't have to wait anywhere near that long!
Here it is in my driveway (sorry it's just a crappy iPhone photo). It's a gorgeous bike and really fun to ride. I've owned quite a few bikes over the years but this one could become one of my all-time favorites. ![]() So now Blake can go get the bike he really wanted - a ZRX1200. And I have a cool new bike to enjoy. A good deal for everyone! Debby

Blake doesn't buy bikes, He just stores them till the proper owner can be found.

It was a little brisk riding up there, but I left nice and early so I could savor the ride and not make it a freeway blast. The good news is it had an SAE pigtail on the battery from the previous owner, so I could plug in and had heat when I needed it...which was most of the way.
I took surface streets from Parker to Broomfield where we caught 287... it took an hour zig-zagging thru town and enjoying what would end up being the longest ride I took on the W in the short time I had it. What a great little bike, it's got a good home surrounded by some classics in the garage.

Debby:
Congrats. My wife had one of those for years and loved it. Corbin used to make a really nice seat for that bike. You can get it with the matching colors and it looks perfect and is comfy. The "ironing board" seat that came on the bike got tossed into the closet after the first 100 mile ride. Link to the Corbin Gunfighter seat but they also make a dual: http://www.corbin.com/kawasaki/w650g.shtml Her Bike: ![]() Here's a gallery to my smugmug with pics of her old bike. She was able to source a windshield and pannier racks (from Europe) that she used with the really small Givi bags. That bike also had Hotgrips installed so heated grips are fine on the bike. http://vervaeke.smugmug.com/Motorcyc...0522&k=97XhHZJ Tom |

lkr57, Congratulations.
That is a great one. Even if Blake did let me ride it around the block. ![]() Marc

Thanks guys! I'm excited about this one.
I wonder if those pannier racks are still available? I've seen photos of the Givi E21 panniers and they look pretty good on these bikes. I saw some listed on fleabay but they were actually designed for the W800. Not sure if they would fit. My friend has a Corbin seat on his and it felt pretty good on the ten minute ride that I did. I had one on my Ducati 900SS and hated it though - like sitting on a block of concrete. I have a sheepskin pad I can use with the stock seat for now. I might see how that works for me... Debby
