G'day Gotan from Chile.
I'll be visiting your homeland around this time next year, or maybe late this year depending on where the Dakar will start and finish for 2014. A little "Dakar tour" of sorts but not quite the same as Koos and co.
Maybe we'll catch up some time with the rest of the Perth ADVRiders.
Ciao
JayBo

G'day Gotan,
Welcome to perth, sorry to hear your car has given you grief.
Drop us a line if you need any help at all, I'm in the northern suburbs, my neighbours are Colombian and Chilean so if you need some translation help or a familiar language/culture you should say hello.
Hope you get a bike soon! I hear bikes are cheap in south america, not so much in perth!

But we have to save a little bit to buy a proper bike (hate my car, lot of money wasted... well may be I don't hate it so much), and my equipment will arrive in a couple of months anyway.

We are living in Rivervale, and I’m not in FIFO, but anyway I will have to travel because of work.

Hi Gotan,

glad you are enjoying WoZ...

Hasanito's experience of minimal encounters with ADV riders in WA could be related to the fact that FIFO can - in some circles - mean Fit In (or) Fuck Off!

Then of course in Gobby's case, it could refer to "Five In/Five Out"... in which case you pair might be able to work something out and make a fist of things...

But I am assuming that FIFO is "Fly In/ Fly Out"... which pretty much leaves the BMW jets set as the alternatives...

Enjoy your time in WA, and fantastic shots of your Argentine homeland... another great continent full of magnificent and contrasting landscapes

Welcome to Perth mate.
Lots of adv riders here. Hope you get a bike sooner than later. Always someone riding somewhere most weekends and you will be very welcome to join any of us.
In the meantime keep an eye out for any social catch ups where public transport might be more appropriate.
Rod.

Hi Gotan, congrats on picking up a bike and trust all is going well for you in Perth. Post a pic of your new machine!

Check out the desert raid thread if you want to get away on a decent ride in August. You will see a lot of WA on this ride if you ride up and back and the destination is very special!

Otherwise keep tuned to the any Perth rides thread for local rides.

See you on the road sometime,

Andrew
