I've been fortunate to have been following this from day one,and this is certainly a "labor of love". Hat's off to all you guys who've worked so hard to make this vision into a reality. Again, please let me know if you know of reliable gas that will break up some of the long stretches.

There are a couple of places to grab gas in that route above. Trout Lake has a gas station (with the funk old gravity-feed pumps) as does Edgewood (short detour just south of Edgewood).

I originally included the WPs for gas and camping when I submitted my GPS files but it was decided to take them out to avoid clutter and just to note these spots in the writeup like you have done...

It is nice to have an overlay file of Waypoints along the route as long as the information is correct... I have noticed, for the Island area anyways, that on some of the gps software out there {Garmin Mapsource for one} that their WPs for campgrounds and such are just plain wrong...

Hope I got the placement in Edgewood right. Found a picture of the general store and then found the location in aerial imagery.

I agree that much of the camping information in the background maps is pretty unreliable, not just in your area, but across the product. I think I mentioned in an earlier post that I was able to verify many of the spots but with the 95% complete product (for now) left some spots as unverified but marked with a question mark. Hopefully we'll be able to verify a few more but frankly some specific information is difficult to find for some locations. As more people ride this we should benefit from more verified waypoints as well. Sent you a PM looking for additional information for the file.

Spent the afternoon working through the VI narrative to make sure I got all the POIs from the narrative into the master GPX. Great narrative by the way - very informative.

I think I got all but two or three that I just couldn't nail down. I'll try to work those with the author of that section so we get everything included in the GPX. Picked up a few extras as well.

All this will come out (along with some other stuff) with a future revision of the master file on the TCAT site.

Several across that lake in fact... One at Galena Bay, one at Arrows and one at Farquier (Needles).

The road from Edgewood south to Grand Forks is decent, although rough and rocky. Not forgiving in many places if you blow a corner... That area is pretty much my backyard, so if you are up here riding, drop me a PM! I'm always looking for riding partners. Lot's of great roads and trails to ride around these parts!
