The basic riders course is the "entry" level, but is fine for experienced riders. They do have less frequent advanced classes too, on the street. In the basic course, typically, there is a Friday evening of videos, talks, and a written test. The next day (or 2 days), you use their bikes (little suckers) to learn skills all in a parking lot. They start you as if you didn't know how to use a clutch, and everyone is at the same level. The advantage for an experienced rider is that we all get lazy or pick up bad habits, and this course helps remind you. I've ridden since I was a teen, but took the course in my late 20's and again about 6 years ago.
Of course, the quality of the individual instructor is very important. My recent instructor could obviously tell who had some experience, and he made more demands of us and was more critical. Great class.
Downside: expensive ($200), and a hot chick broke her leg on the first day.
Upside: You might avoid an accident or a fall in front of your girlfriend. Another upside was I saw a pirate-wannabe (decked out in brand new leathers and chained wallet) unable to navigate the most simple cone swerves. He failed the course. A grandma in the course (who never rode before) kicked his butt....much to the delight of all. Some insurance companies give you a 10% break in insurance too, but that takes a while to pay for the course.

I would bet for less than $15 a year you can get comp for it. I carry lability and comprehensive on some of them. It is very cheap. I have liability, comp and collision on others. Collision is the expensive part of "full coverage".

I will have to call them back tomorrow and see. I did it in the parking lot of the DMV and just wanted to get what i needed to get the paper work done. But it would be nice to have more just in case

Not sure what happened there. Was right side up when I posted it on the computer and is right when I look at it. Just checked on the iPad and it is upside down. ...

Dammit. I got diffy fluid burpin outta my rear breather tube in the beepadeep. (I hate the smell of that shtuff). I would say that its overfilled, but I haven't replaced the fluid in about 2 years and it's never come out before. Just seems kinda strange. Maybe it's just the cold weather.
