Cr500 makes 56hp low stock to 63hp with some cheap mods.
These bikes are used for hillclimbing for a reason with 70+hp highly modded.
If someone wants to run mine on a dyno I think you will see a solid 60hp.
The bike the cr500 replaced was a KTM dxc 550cc 2 stroke 1992.

12 grand and a 45 minute drive gets you best bike you can buy, without question.

Not only a cr500 will out perform new 4 strokes but also a "lesser"
KTM 380 will make new 450s look slow.

putting that kid on a 2 stroke that sounds great.
Let that kid ride the 500 in the woods with throttle pinned, that would be way cool.
Everyone will soon ride high-tech 2 strokes and then you can say "I guess crazy old Doug was right afterall."
And we have not even discussed the simplicity, reliability, ease of maintenance, and lower cost of a 2T.

I am kinda glad the seller of a TE510 sold it out from under me as I was there to pick it up.
I can wait for the new 2 stroke DS that will return us fans to ultimate GLORY!

the 85'CR500 was really unrideable until it was de-tuned.
