New bike advice

I am currently looking at an early 90's model dr350. I contacted the seller the bike has pretty low miles and appears to be in fairly good condition considering the age. He did say that he has trouble cold starting the bike and usually rolls it off. The price is reasonable. My question is will it be worth it to have a bike w/kick starting issues or will a carb clean or valve adjustment take care of this issue. I have also talked with a guy about a late 80's KLR250 that does not have any issues. I prefer the 350 for the added power but am not opposed to a 250.
As I rider I am a novice especially in the dual sport world. I haven't really dirtbikes rode since I was a teenager, but since my brother got a xr650l I really have an itch to get to join him.

The 350 is a good bike. Once its tuned properly and you learn the kick sequence it will start fine (provided there is nothing realy wrong with the bike.) Seeing that your brother is on a 650 I would deffinetly go for the larger bike. You will be wringing the 350's neck to keep up but the 250 would be hopeless.

Well, I definitely prefer a little smaller bike than the 650. It will be used very rarely on the highway...mainly around town, trails, and forest service roads
