What a project guys! Amazing!
I have just downloaded the file from the website and loaded it into Google Earth. Since Google Earth takes ages to load the entire thing, I only selected the SK trail.
When following the route, I found a couple of gaps in between the trails. It this with reason? Or is Google Earth acting up?

Probably. There are no gaps (except for significant ferry crossings) in the tracks.

Dont worry called Google from my Iphone and they said that they are on it like BMW's on Starbucks, but for now you can use apple maps to find your way. For better location services to enable Siri and she will guide you

I realize that not everyone will be running this thing all at once. Seems like many will be doing a section at a time.

To make it easier to sort things, I am changing the labels on the 900+ waypoints to indicate what section (generally provinces) the waypoints are in.

Most of the waypoints are already grouped by type (gas, hospitals, dealers, etc) so they are easy to manage. With the new labels, one will be able to separate a subset of each category specific to a section (i.e. all dealers in MB, or all gas in SK, or all camping on VI). This will also make it easier for someone searching waypoints on the trail. If you were looking through the dealer waypoints on your GPS while you are riding the TCAT, you would find them labeled (and thus ordered) by section.

So, for someone riding only a portion of the TCAT, it would be easy to build a custom file for your trip by snipping out the waypoints and tracks that pertain to the section you plan to ride and putting them in your own file. Makes for a tidier file that uses less capacity and for more flexibility in planning.

This will be included in the next major revision.

Absolutely! I'm working on producing some PDF files that can be printed for the die-hard paper navigation types. What I'm working towards is an overview map of each 'region' (Island, Taiga, Prairies, etc) as well as per-day or per-section map at a larger scale showing more detail.

The overview maps will be 22"x34". If you have access to large format printing, you'll be laughing. I will also make these overview maps available in a tiled format, so you can print 4 sheets @ 11x17 (with a little overlap added) to produce the same end result.

The individual section maps will vary based on size and shape. Some will be able to be produced on a single 11x17 sheet, some may require tiled layouts.

In any case, there WILL be PDF maps available for the non-GPS types out there.

Where I live we have the abandoned railway trail 5 mins from my house, and I intend to be on it going everywhere

I will be 72 this summer.
Have ridden from SC to Prudohe Bay,and back which included about 2000 mi of dirt at 67.
Did the TAT at 69.
Did the Forever West route at 70.
Have ridden several duel sport routes around the south eastern part of the US.
I plan on doing the TCAT in 2014.
Like one said you do not get to old to ride, just to old to fall (really hard)

1- "Relais Barrière du Nord", around 50Km south of Chibougamau... Maybe open only during winter (snowmobile)
2- South of "Scierie 54", km178 on road 167. Caféteria open on worker lunch time. not sure it still exists
