Any thought to an add-on storage container that will fit on the inside of the left side (between the rack and the rear tire, opposite the muffler)? I have an '09 KLR 650. Seems like a good place for tent pole storage, tools, etc. I could make something out of 3" PVC but that's heavy and hokey. An aluminum can of some sort strapped to the rack with hose clamps?

If you can pick up a fly-rod case for a travel rod, they tend to be about 3" in diameter by 24" long. The best ones have a brass cap and an o-ring. They are not cheap!

There are some nice welding rod cases available at Merriam-Graves. Much cheaper.

Whats convenient is the design allows clearance to access the air filter and battery without rack removal. The racks are slim enough to allow a 2-up rider to still use the pegs without interference. Lots of thought and design went into these racks and it shows!
