I have been looking for the filter you used. Is this the same one that is used for the Trabant 601?. That one looks like it has an opening only at one end. Did you open the other end? Or did the one you used have and opening at either end?

Sorry to keep pestering you, but where did you get the neat little rubber "gaskets" the plug inot the ends or the air filter?

Its the only filter I have seen listed for a Trabant, and it is open at both ends. The gaskets came from a Euro spec Ural Wolf aircleaner, cutting some from closed cell foam would be just as good.

Almost 1000 km since I started running it, and have exposed it to the worst possible winter riding conditions, the filter still looks like new. The same km's and conditions would have required servicing the OE filter several times.
