Queen valley is east of gold canyon no where near queen creek, it's really nice in the spring. Lots of water and wildflowers.

Cool report - grew up in Tucson and visited Araviapa Canyon many times with my parents. We've back packed the length of it from both directions. An oasis-like place in the summer.

I'm guessing the very first photo with the snow was in Colorado... Are there parts that you can ride all year? How cold was it out in the desert? I'd love to ride Arizona some day, just not in the summer!

With the imminent 100% chance of precipe for Sat. I took advantage of the cloud cover Fri. and rolled downstream for the afternoon.






I dropped a tooth on the front sprocket, this route would let me test it under most of the terrain type I intend to use this bike for.






Right into the sand and Saguaro.

On my way back down to the wash I see a healthy Crested specimen.






I rode up the canyon a few miles and see another farther off in the distance, it, not so healthy, but look at the life cycle stages in this picture.

As soon as I intersect with the ridge route, I am treated to a great view of the canyon below this route.











As I exit the Mesa and enter the Foothills the texture of the tread changes also.







Ride shoot, ride shoot, I always forget how scenic this route is.











I have camped at this site many times over the years.











Pictures do not show how brilliant the color really is!
















Back on route I am almost to the high elevation point (4,631') of this ride.

















A hearty fellows at this elevation, and the only ones around.

Nearing Soza Mesa I stoped at the Hotsprings canyon overlook.







Excellent view of the country I rode last weekend in the Winchester foothills.
Bald Ridge, Reiley peak, Javelina and Muskhog Mountain.
To get from here to there involves a lot of miles.






Looking back I think this is the best pic of the day, the Galiuro high peaks.

Two weeks without a ride!
I slipped out a little after noon today for an eighty one mile loop.
















First deviation.
















Back on the main road for a few miles to the second deviation.











The veiws are great from the top of the hill. The mighty Rincon peak. The " Waterfall " is in the center of this shot.











Looking over the San pedro valley to the Galiuro range and the high summits of the Pinelano mountains (10,700+ elv.)






I did not take any pics as I rolled down and thru the riparian area, it was a little busy with hikers and hunters. Once I was out of Paige creek I saw no one for many miles.























































Over the pass, the valley opens up.



















A casual cruise down the mountain side took me to this little canyon.
