How stable is that windscreen setup at 60-70 mph ? Does it shake around or is it stable?
Also how tall are you and are you getting clean air ?

Fleshpiston,
Super job on your Klr project, it looks top notch and well thought out.
How about some details on your front and rear suspension, and your muffler.
You should start a dedicated thread on your build.

I used the screen addition for 14,000 miles on a Tiger XC and it was very stable. I am 6'1" and as soon as I get a chance I will report on the KLR with HT Rallye Kit and MRA clip on.

Was at the International Motorcycle Show in Cleveland today. The KLR's were getting a lot of attention. I think the new all blacked out look appeals to many people.

Yeah, they look better than ever, that yellow one is pretty cool also.Did they have that there.
What is your inseam ?
I am wondering how stable that HT rally mount will be ? Or if it shakes.

I'm 6' 1"with only a 32" inseam, so I am torso tall and sit high in the saddle.
Not to many windscreens work for me.Usually they just make things worse.

Did any certain color really look good to you ?

I am partial to the "triple black" but the yellow looks good too.

I have been running this HT Rallye set-up for almost 2 years and absolutely love it. The windscreen is very stable at highway speeds. It has really cut down on the turbulence pushing the helmet around as well. I am 6' with a 30" inseam.

Are you using the stock windshield with it, or something taller ?

crash bars

Just installed my new SW Motech crash bars. It took about 2 hours.

I got some complaints: They didn't send ANY step by step instructions. I did get on this site and found a video of someone doing it. Thank goodness for the internet. I didn't have any trouble cause i went step by step on the video and didn't have any trouble. If i would have run into trouble it could have taken much longer.

The HT bars weren't much better.

Either were the instructions from Moose Racing for the 3 rear racks I've installed.

They all think you can read their mind for the bolt lengths

Well, I had a cascade of KLR tinkerings today. What started as a re-fitment of my old supermoto front fender to replace my broken one from my last ride...

Broken beak.

Then I decided to swap my 16T sprocket for my 14T. Been doing a bit of DS exploring lately and less trail riding.

Then I decided to clean up the rear end as the swingarm tips and axle adjusters were chock full of dirt.

Then I decided to change my rear wheel bearings and grease up the whole thing properly.

Then I decided to weld up a fat foot for my side stand. Tried to drill a bunch of holes to lighten the thing. Holes in the bottom were filled with silicone to keep water and mud out of it. If I were to do it again, I'd plan out the hole placement a bit better so I could make more holes.
