Prime Mover checking in here. Live way up North East Ohio in the Youngstown area. Got some good roads down South a bit. Rte 164 is always nice and runs up along the Ohio River. I'd like to jump on any riding clubs, if there are any.

Damn. I wanted to try the ice riding. Now I'm in Texas. It was 80 degrees 2 days ago. I'm almost sad. Almost.

If any of you FF's want to come watch or try a few laps of riding, we'll be there tomorrow starting about 11am.

Either Fairfield Beach, Brooks Beach or Liebs Island parking lots. I'm not exactly sure where they rode today so we'll look at those 3 spots until we find the other riders. Tomorrow will be the last day as the forecast is for warming up next week.

Later,

Always wanted to take photos of that but cant make to Buckeye Lake today. There are a couple guys down the road (by Graham's grass airfield on Rt16) that get out. I'll have to check out to see if they're there. Have fun

I'm close to you in Mineral Ridge. I don't get to ride as often as I would like and most of my riding is in the dirt. There a couple of off road racing clubs in the area but ADV is about as good of a adventure riding club as you'll find. Welcome.

Sorry but you missed a good one! Tell Zach that today's ice was nicer than anything we had two years ago. Great track was plowed off and the weather couldn't be better. It was smooooooooth! Awesome.

A few pics: Bikes prepped for ice and ready to go.

Only Bob Ramsay showed up to take my offer to ride. He said it had been 20 years since he rode on ice but he quickly looked good.

Here's Bob after only one or two laps

Kirk and Mike gettin' after it

There were a few other fast guys there too

A neat old Yamaha TT500 showed up

It was really cool old bike

Kirk's new Husqvarna 449 was fast and sounds awesome

The best lookin' bikes out there today ...

I took a few pics while riding ... one-handed on the ice leaned in the corners was tricky!

I like this one

One more of Kirk backin' it in to the corner. What a great ride!

Later,
M

It was warm! So much so that the top of the ice was getting soft and some water was leaking through cracks in the ice.

That was so much fun it probably outta be illegal ... but the local Sheriff and the Millersport Police both stopped by to watch us for a while. No drama as everyone was being cool, we were all riding the same direction and being safe getting on and off the track. So they left.

Later,
M

Cool pics. Any idea how thick the ice is? If it stays cold in Feb I'm seriously considering clearing the snow off our pond and getting it.
