I assume it was in Marion County, but I think the "how" is something that should have been thought through more carefully, at the time.

But then, I have had them only in boughten pie, so I guess that is not a fair assessment.

When I was a young kid we regularly visited a family that had a farm near Woodburn, a truck farm, Old country work ethics,, everybody works, migrant pickers, kids, everybody in rubber boots,let's get out there!,,strawberries, Marionberrys, Loganberrys. and acres of other good eatable healthy stuff.
Marion berry (to me as a kid) was a 'jacked up on steroids' blackberry, you could pick a mouthfull without getting stabbed with thorns,Yummy!,while the same could be imagined for the Loganberry being a hyper raspberry,although,they tasted watered down to me, and I liked the little tight hard raspberries down in the "old patch", where the old dairy cow (a Jersey, I think, she was light brown with big eyes and friendly to little kids) hung out,, across the road from the homestead.

I was a fail at strawberry picking, I could always eat more than I could put in the flats,pick pick pick,,,Oooh, Look at THAT one,,nom nom nom,,

,did okay with the chickens and aigs,, and lernt yer NOT spozed to give the pigs a hosing to wash the mud off!

Mostly I just ate the frikken berries,,and baby cucumbers,,Mmmm,, there were miles of both in my 8 yr old mind. I lernt a lot from those wonderful folks, all good value shit most kids miss nowadays.
Those types of farms are nearly gone now I think.
