Hi Guys!
I've just picked up an Australian 04 DRZ250. It's my first trailbike after riding on roadbikes forever. I've just grabbed a new twin air filter, and it's got a rubber grommet in the middle, there isn't any sort of cage in the airbox to hold this type of filter now. The current filter is held in by a long wire spring clip, nothing fancy. These twin air filters look like they expect a cage, or some sort of bolt to go through them, but I can't find anything on the twin air website that they say should fit. What am I missing? Cheers Ben Sydney |

I'm looking at the fiche parts list and diagrams and the drz250 and drz400 seem to share the same shift lever. Can anyone confirm this? The rubber is wearing out on mine and I'm thinking of changing it to a knurled metal tip.

ronayers.com has a fiche with a where its used option ![]() if its the same part number they will tell you its a drz250 only part, but the drz400 might work as well with a different bend i know the dr250/350 kicker is the same

Hey guys. Im a DR 350 owner, but I am looking for a dedicated trail bike, that is more maneuverable when going faster on the trails. I came across a 2005 DRZ-250 very affordable, and lower than my price range. I see some action shots here, and was wondering if anyone recommends the DRZ over say a KLX or CRF250X. I already know the electric start is a plus, but also adds weight. I can't help but thinking the more I look at it, it looks basically identical to my 96 DR, which could mean they got it right the first time, or it is basically the same bike minus blinkers. Looking for some input please.
Honestly price wise its right up my ally, but I am looking to get more agressive with my trail riding, so I don't want something that will prevent me from being able to do that. Thoughts please. |

the drz250 is more refined than the dr350
better suspension , handling , ect but it shares some parts with the older dr250/350 line buy it you will be very happy with the performance of the drz250 read uncorking your drz250

works for me, I just read uncorking your DRZ250 and its all pretty simple. I have never done anything like that before, but I have the tools, so I should be able to do it. Thanks for the input. Looks like I will buy the DRZ. is $1700 for a 2005 seem legit?

I have the option to get this one for 1700 from the owner, who works at the store or......
![]() ![]() This is in my sights for 2500. I really don't want to spend the extra money, but I am still not sure which one will be the best for me. Only real advantage I can find is aftermarket support for the CRF250X Just got off the phone with the honda owner, he had to reshim the valves. I know that isn't a huge deal as far as I can tell. I am truly torn. redleger screwed with this post 01-28-2013 at 06:23 PM Reason: update |

the drz will not need a major rebuild after 40 or so hours.
i like the crfx bikes not enough to buy one the drz will serve you well with basic maintenance $1700 that is a deal, take the extra money and spend it on the drz 250
