Excellent news. No rally plans currently. Might take Tanya down the coast next weekend. Probably the Cold Flame will be next all going well.
Cheers

Hammered down here in Carwoola, the workshop's flooded (no real dramas) but the tanks and dams filled in 15 mins, a new recorded

Hope the folks at Numeralla bought some wet weather gear, they looked like they coped it bad. Last thing those folks needed after the past few weeks.

We only just made it back through Namadgi ahead of last night's storm - might have been a bit ugly on a bike ...

30mm out here, but no runoff into dams ...

Too much standing feed - the kangaroo grass loves a nice hot dry spell, and that thatch catches any attempt at runoff ...

The Bureau is upbeat about more rain today ...

Similar here, and some wet campsites with it. The fire may be declared out after this too.

The performers on Friday evening were great, and yesterday afternoon's Underskore Orkestra performance was fantastic. With a ride in the morning and a few beers last night in the rain, been a great weekend so far.

Canberra to Katoomba on dirt

Hi

can anyone recommend a route to Katoomba from Canberra that takes in a few nice dirt roads??

I usually drive the car via Taralga and Oberon, but would like to mix it up a bit on the BIKE.

:)

About 400? metres past where the dirt starts hang a right, down hill do a splash (i think it is a bridge now) and climb up to two sticks, turn right again, turn right at the Mt Cooree sign. (there will be some bigh puddles and some wash aways) after saturdays effort. Top spot up there.

There’s a few different ways to get to Mt Coree ...

Coming from Uriarra, Two Sticks Rd is the simplest – access to the start of that is on Mt Creek Rd, about 1.5km down from the start of Drs Flat Rd (i.e. that gate we went through with Nick, where the cattle were on the road).

Two Sticks does a big horseshoe, and ends up down on Brindabella Rd - opposite the start of Mt Franklin Rd ...

There's a side road up to the summit of Mt Coree itself – a few kms only – a bit steep / loose at the top, but probably no worse than that little stretch on Broken Cart ...

You could do the loop in either direction (i.e. start on Mt Creek or start on Brindabella) – as Davo points out, likely to be some washouts up there as a result of rains - take it easy ...

This could be a little keen b/4 work with the amount of rain we have had, and by yourself. That red clay is a pig when its wet, ask Siva..........
