I use Givi frames with these aluminium inserts. (took a cardboard template to a local sheetmetal place).



I acknowledge that the "look" is not everyone's cup of tea, but combined with a couple of those blue straps it means the bags are pretty reliably mounted.

That's a great ride! I am too looking for a ride like this to get my VStrom dirty! Looks nice and not too hard. Can you PM me if you're going this ride again soon? Looks like it would be nice to camp out there. I'm at Rothwell (near Redcliffe), so not too far away.

Funny you should mention that. On the road in there were about 4 or 5 big brand new concrete culverts.....probably only just now replaced after the Jan 2011 flash flooding. Wonder if they're still there?
